Silicone hose, pneumatic tube and conduit: cut to length
Silicone hose, pneumatic tubing and corrugated protective conduit behave differently during feeding and cutting. We select the support and cutting method from the material, inner and outer diameters, wall construction and finished end. Check the released piece as well as its programmed length. Compare the three cutter configurations below by material and required cut. For metal tube, see our cutting machine range below.
| Step | Equipment | Why it's needed |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Define the finished part | Material sample and part drawing | Confirm material, outer and inner diameters, wall thickness, finished length and end condition. |
| 2A. Belt feed for suitable tubing | Belt-feed tube cutter WM-606Get a quote for WM-606 → | Select guides and feed pressure for the tube. Its standard processing range is 4–30 mm; the larger range is a custom configuration. |
| 2B. Rotary cutting for tube and hose | Rotary-blade tube cutter WM-582Get a quote for WM-582 → | An alternative for suitable tube and hose of Ø1–40 mm; compare the actual cut ends with the fitting or assembly requirement. |
| 2C. Cut and slit corrugated conduit | Corrugated-tube cutting and splitting set WM-583Get a quote for WM-583 → | For Ø5–60 mm corrugated conduit that needs a lengthwise opening, with powered feeding. This is a separate processing route. |
| 3. Inspect and collect | Length check, end inspection and batch count | Check the relaxed length, squareness, ovality and any slit before releasing the batch to assembly. |

Start with the tube and the connection it must fit
A soft silicone hose, a stiffer pneumatic tube and a corrugated protective conduit can require different feed pressure, guides and blades. Send an uncut sample and a finished example, or show the required end in a drawing. Identify the inner and outer diameters separately: a nominal size alone does not define the cutting envelope or support. We assess the open bore and fit with the next operation. For protective conduit, confirm whether it must remain closed or open along its length.
Measure the finished length after the material relaxes
Pulling a flexible tube through the feeder can change the length you measure immediately after cutting. Compare the first pieces after the agreed relaxation interval, then check pieces from later in the batch. Our soft-hose length guide explains how to separate feeding tension, slipping and measurement conditions. A display increment is not the finished-part tolerance. We confirm the acceptable length variation with your sample and drawing.
Different tube products need different routes
For a longitudinal opening, compare the dedicated corrugated-tube cutting and splitting set WM-583. For a spiral protective sleeve, use the separate spiral-cutting route WM-571. These operations are alternatives, not steps every tube needs. Our corrugated-conduit guide connects cut position with the required fitting. For metal tube or a different material, start with our cutting equipment category so we can select the appropriate cutting method.
Tube and hose processing questions
Do you supply a tube manufacturing or extrusion line?
This application covers preparing supplied tube and hose into finished lengths. We select feeding, cutting and, where needed, slitting equipment. Tell us the incoming material and required finished part so the quotation covers the processing steps you need.
Which cutter should we choose for soft hose?
Start with the material, outer and inner diameters, wall thickness and cut-end requirement. Our standard belt-feed route WM-606 covers 4–30 mm tubing. Our rotary-blade route WM-582 lists Ø1–40 mm. We compare feeding and cut quality on your actual tube rather than selecting from diameter alone.
Can we cut corrugated conduit and open it lengthwise?
Yes, our cutting and splitting set WM-583 lists Ø5–60 mm corrugated tube and includes a powered feeder. Confirm the slit position, finished length and fitting with a sample. A cutter specified only for cross-cutting should not be assumed to make the same opening.
What should a tube-cutting inquiry include?
Send the material, outer and inner diameters, wall thickness, finished length and tolerance. Include the cut-end or fitting requirement, whether a slit is needed, and batch quantities. We confirm a suitable sample quantity and record the trial so you can inspect the finished parts before ordering.
