The WM-196 cuts, strips and bends cable from 2 to 35 mm² in one pass, so a battery interconnect lead leaves the machine already shaped instead of being bent by hand at the bench. It produces U-shape, Z-shape clockwise and counter-clockwise bends and fixed angles of 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°, at 2,000–3,000 pcs/h on a 100 mm part. Cutting length runs from 1 to 100,000 mm at ±0.001 × L tolerance, with stripping from 0.1 to 100 mm, all programmed on a Chinese/English touch screen.

Key features

  • Bending head sits after the blades — the same cycle that cuts to length and strips both ends also forms the lead, removing a separate hand-bending station
  • U-shape, Z-shape in either rotation and fixed 30°/45°/60°/90° angles, each stored as part of the program with the cut and strip data
  • Roller straightener ahead of the feed wheels takes the reel curvature out of heavy cable so the bend lands where the program says it does
  • Six-wheel powered feed with a length scale on the front panel; conduit bore is matched to your cable rather than fixed at one size
  • Free sample test — send us 2–3 m of your cable and the bend drawing, we run it on the machine and send the video before you order

What it processes

  • New-energy battery interconnect leads and pack wiring in 2–35 mm² copper cable
  • Energy-storage cabinets, chargers and inverters where a shaped lead must drop straight onto the stud
  • Switchgear and control-cabinet jumpers that are cut, stripped and pre-formed to a fixed geometry
  • Appliance, motor and automotive power leads that repeat the same bend thousands of times per batch

Suited for: 2–35 mm² copper cable that has to leave the line already bent — battery interconnect leads, energy-storage jumpers and cabinet power links where the same U, Z or right-angle shape repeats across the whole batch. Not suited for: cable above 35 mm², and it is not a crimping machine. For wire below 2 mm² the smaller WM-1224 automatic wire and cable bending machine runs the same cycle over 1–16 mm². For heavy power cable from 10 to 150 mm² use the WM-1450 thick cable cutting and stripping machine; for 1.5–50 mm² new-energy cable off a heavy reel, the vertical WM-163 cable cutting and stripping machine is the better feeder. To press lugs onto the finished leads, the WM-3135T 35-ton cable lug crimping machine covers terminals up to 120 mm².

This is the first bending machine on the line card, and it is here because large-section new-energy harness work keeps asking for it: a 35 mm² lead is stiff enough that a hand-bent shape never repeats twice, and every millimetre of drift shows up when the lug has to meet a fixed stud position. Bend geometry, cut length and both strip lengths live in one program, so changing part numbers is a recipe recall rather than a fixture change.

Conduit bore, bend radius and clamp tooling are matched to your cable — send the cable spec and the bend drawing with your inquiry and we will confirm what the machine needs before quoting.

WM-196 — common questions

Where does a bending machine sit in a wire harness line?

After cutting and stripping, before crimping in most shops — but on the WM-196 the cut, the strip and the bend happen in one machine, so the lead comes out already shaped and is carried straight to the lug press. If you already run a separate cut-and-strip machine for heavy cable, this machine can be fed from it and used for the forming step alone.

What bend shapes can it make?

U shape, Z shape in clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation, and fixed angles of 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°. Bending length is set in the program alongside the cutting length and the two stripping lengths, so a whole part number is one recipe on the touch screen.

My cable is bigger than 35 mm². What then?

35 mm² is the conductor limit here. For 10–150 mm² power cable, cut and strip it on the WM-1450 thick cable cutting and stripping machine and form it separately; tell us the bend geometry and we will quote the tooling as a custom build.

My wire is smaller than 2 mm². Is there a smaller version?

Yes. The WM-1224 automatic wire and cable bending machine is the same cut-strip-bend platform sized for 1–16 mm², in a 55 kg benchtop frame measuring 53 × 53 × 40 cm. Bend shapes, cutting range and output rate are identical to this machine, so pick by conductor range.
