Vertical Cable Cutting and Stripping Machine for 1.5–50 mm² New-Energy Cable WM-163

CE Certified HS Code 8463.90 1.5–50 mm² 1,500–2,500 pcs/h

The WM-163 cuts and strips multi-strand copper cable from 1.5 to 50 mm² — battery leads, energy-storage harness wire, sheathed and coaxial cable up to Φ17 mm. Its upright cabinet takes only 650 × 550 mm of floor space, while a 12-wheel drive feeds cable to any length up to 1,000 m at ±0.2% (0.002×L). It strips 250 mm at the head and 150 mm at the tail, runs 1,500–2,500 pieces per hour, and stores 200 programs on a 7-inch color touchscreen. A powered pay-off stand for heavy reels is shown in the gallery.

Key features

  • Upright cabinet needs only 0.65 × 0.55 m of floor — 50 mm² cable capacity without a large-machine footprint
  • 12-wheel drive pushes stiff multi-strand cable through the Φ17 mm guide pipe without slipping on the jacket
  • Strips heads to 250 mm and tails to 150 mm in one pass while holding ±0.2% length tolerance
  • Powered pay-off stand (pictured) uncoils heavy reels so the feed wheels never fight reel inertia

What it processes

  • New-energy vehicle and energy-storage harnesses using 1.5–50 mm² multi-strand cable
  • Sheathed and shielded cable prefabrication in wire harness plants
  • Panel builders and cable shops cutting battery and grounding leads to length

Suited for: stiff multi-strand power cable from 1.5 to 50 mm² — battery and energy-storage leads, welding-class flexible cable, sheathed and shielded cable up to Φ17 mm OD, fed from heavy reels on the pictured pay-off stand. Not suited for: fine hookup wire below 1.5 mm² — for that, pick the WM-167 benchtop cut and strip machine, which covers 0.1–10 mm² — or jobs that need the individual cores of a multicore cable stripped, where the WM-168HT multi-core machine strips sheath and cores in one program.

Special cables can be verified against your sample: send 2–3 meters of your actual cable and we run it on this machine on video before you commit. See how vertical cut-and-strip fits an EV wire harness line.

WM-163 — common questions

What cable sizes can the WM-163 handle?

Multi-strand copper conductor from 1.5 to 50 mm² with outer diameter up to Φ17 mm. Head stripping reaches 250 mm and tail stripping 150 mm, and at least 50 mm of insulation must remain between strip windows.

How are heavy cable reels fed into the machine?

Through the powered pay-off stand shown in the gallery. It uncoils the reel ahead of the 12-wheel drive, so feeding stays smooth at 1,500–2,500 pieces per hour instead of stalling against reel inertia. Tell us your reel weight and flange size and we match the setup before shipping.

Is the WM-163 the right machine for thin hookup wire?

No — below 1.5 mm² a compact benchtop unit is faster and cheaper to run. The other automatic cut and strip machines in this category cover fine wire at higher piece rates; the WM-163 earns its place on stiff multi-strand cable from 1.5 to 50 mm².
