Round Sheathed Cable Cut and Strip Machine for 0.1–10 mm², 6,000 pcs/h WM-1228
The WM-1228 cuts round sheathed cable to length and takes the outer jacket off both ends at 3,000 to 6,000 pieces per hour on 100 mm pieces. It runs single-conductor and multi-core round cable with conductors from 0.1 to 10 mm² through a Φ13 mm conduit, cuts any length from 1 mm to 100,000 mm, and strips up to 150 mm at the head and 150 mm at the tail — plus up to three middle-strip windows per piece. Four driven wheels feed the cable, jobs are set on an English/Chinese LCD screen, and the 47 kg cabinet measures 53 × 53 × 40 cm on 110/220 V at 450 W.

Key features
- Jacket work at volume — 3,000 to 6,000 pieces an hour on 100 mm cable, because the machine does one job (cut to length, sheath off both ends) instead of dividing its cycle between jacket and inner cores
- Head and tail both open to 150 mm, so cable needing a long bare sheath window at either end is programmed once and comes off finished, with no second pass through the blades
- The same machine makes 20 mm jumpers and 100 metre runs — cutting length is programmable from 1 mm to 100,000 mm
- Up to three mid-span windows per piece for grounding taps and breakouts, opened without cutting the cable
- Four driven wheels pull the cable through a Φ13 mm conduit; roller pressure is set with a D/U lever against a MAX–MIN gauge and roller gap on a numbered dial, so a changeover is a dial reading rather than a feel
- A two-plane roller straightener on the infeed takes the coil set out of the cable before it reaches the blades
What it processes
- Round sheathed cable, single-conductor and multi-core, with conductors from 0.1 to 10 mm² and cable OD passing a Φ13 mm conduit
- Power cord and appliance lines where the jacket comes off in bulk and the inner cores are terminated at a separate station
- Long jacketed leads cut to length up to 100 metres, and short jumpers with mid-span grounding windows
Suited for: round sheathed cable — single-conductor and multi-core — with conductors from 0.1 to 10 mm² passing a Φ13 mm conduit, where the job is cutting to length and taking the outer jacket off both ends in volume.
Not suited for: stripping the inner cores once the sheath is off — this machine stops at the jacket. When the cores have to be stripped in the same cycle, use the WM-189 round sheathed cable cutting and stripping machine for Φ3–13 mm cable up to 4 cores, or the WM-1223 multi-core sheathed cable machine for Φ2–10 mm cable with 2 to 8 cores. Conductors above 10 mm² are outside the roller range — the WM-194 8-wheel cutting and stripping machine carries the same 1–100,000 mm cutting range out to 25 mm², and the WM-169Y takes jacketed cable from 6 to 30 mm². And if a piece needs more than three insulation windows mid-span, the WM-167 benchtop cut and strip machine opens up to 16 on the same 0.1–10 mm² conductor range.
A wire tray, rubber feed rollers for soft jackets and an additional wire straightener are listed as options for this machine — mention your jacket material and coil size in your inquiry and we will tell you which of them your job actually needs.

WM-1228 — common questions
Does the WM-1228 strip the inner cores as well as the outer jacket?
No. Its published stripping function is outer jacket stripping — it cuts the cable to length and removes the sheath at the head and tail, leaving the inner cores intact for a downstream station. If the cores have to be stripped in the same cycle, the WM-189 round sheathed cable cutting and stripping machine does the jacket and every core on Φ3–13 mm cable with up to 4 cores, and the WM-1223 covers Φ2–10 mm cable with 2 to 8 cores.
How does this differ from the WM-189, which also handles round sheathed cable?
Throughput against scope. The WM-1228 does jacket only and runs 3,000–6,000 pieces per hour; the WM-189 strips the jacket and each inner core in one pass but rates 650 pieces per hour. The WM-1228 also strips longer (150 mm head and tail against a 20–150 mm jacket window), opens up to three mid-span windows, and cuts to 100,000 mm. Pick the WM-1228 when core stripping happens elsewhere and volume is the constraint; pick the WM-189 when the cable must leave one machine fully terminated-ready.
Will it run my cable?
Sheath hardness and cable construction vary more than the numbers suggest, so we check rather than guess. Send 2–3 metres of your actual cable — we run it on this machine, set the roller pressure and blade gap against your sample, and send you the trial video before you commit to an order.
