Semi-Automatic Toroidal Coil Tape Wrapping Machine for Wound Coils and Ring Cores WM-468

HS Code 8479.89 1.5 s per taping cycle

The WM-468 wraps adhesive tape bands around wound coils and ring-type workpieces — place the coil against the wrap point and the pneumatic taping head pulls, wraps and cuts the tape in a cycle within 1.5 seconds. It runs 10–15 mm tape (customizable width) with cutting lengths of 45–75 mm, set from a color touchscreen with an English interface, auto/manual modes and an output counter.

Key features

  • Wrap-around taping head passes the tape through the coil aperture and bands the ring cross-section in one 1.5-second cycle
  • Color touchscreen (English/Chinese switchable) with auto and manual modes, output counter and tape-pull parameters per recipe
  • Photoelectric tape monitoring along the feed path; reel change is quick — the new tape is joined end-to-end to the old one, no rethreading
  • Wrap tightness is tooling-based — for non-standard coil shapes the wrapping reel is matched to your product size, so send a coil sample with your inquiry

What it processes

  • Banding flat-wire and round-wire wound coils to keep windings compressed and terminated
  • Insulation tape bands on inductor, choke and transformer coils and ring-type cores
  • Securing tape wraps at intervals around racetrack and toroidal coil bodies before assembly or potting

Suited for: wrap-around tape banding on wound coils and ring-type workpieces — the tape passes through the coil opening and bands the cross-section, one band per 1.5-second cycle. Not suited for: continuous spiral taping along wire harness bundles — that is the job of the WM-467 automatic wire harness taping machine for Φ3–30 mm bundles; for spot taping at programmed points on coils and long bundles, use the WM-464 two-station spot taping machine. Small transformer bobbins and magnetic core coils that need the winding covered rather than banded are the job of the WM-470 transformer coil tape winding machine, which orbits the tape around the coil at 46 pcs/min.

Tape width outside 10–15 mm can be accommodated on request, and non-standard coil shapes are handled with a customized wrapping reel — include your coil dimensions and tape spec in the inquiry so we can confirm tooling before quoting.

WM-468 — common questions

What coil sizes can the WM-468 wrap?

The supplier data sheet does not publish a fixed coil size range because wrap tightness depends on the wrapping reel (mold) fitted to the machine. Standard tooling covers common coil sections; for special shapes or sizes the reel is customized to your product. Send us a coil sample or drawing and we confirm fit before you order.

How is the tape reel replaced?

The machine takes reels with a 76 mm inner diameter and up to 120 mm outer diameter, tape width 10–15 mm (other widths available on request). When a reel runs out, the new tape is bonded end-to-end to the tail of the old one, so the head does not need to be rethreaded.

Does it need compressed air?

Yes. The taping head is pneumatic and the machine has an onboard filter-regulator; rated air pressure is 4 kg/cm² from a standard shop air line, plus a 220 V 50 Hz supply drawing 0.55 kW.

Which parts wear and what is covered?

The cutting scissors, tape roll and contact switch are the listed wear parts and are stocked as spares. Other electrical components carry a one-year warranty, excluding man-made damage and force majeure.
