Automatic PTFE Thread Seal Tape Winding Machine for NPT and ZG Fittings WM-461

CE Certified HS Code 8479.89 600–800 pcs/h

The WM-461 wraps PTFE thread-seal tape onto pipe fittings fully automatically — pour threaded joints into the vibratory bowl and the machine feeds, wraps and ejects them at 4 to 6 seconds a piece with 3 to 5 tape turns, or 600 to 800 finished fittings per hour. It covers ZG and NPT threads from 1/8 to 2 inch using standard tape 5 to 14 mm wide and 0.1 mm thick, with wrap count and speed set on an English touchscreen. Servo-driven winding lays each turn tight so the tape does not unravel in transit.

Key features

  • Bulk-feed and forget — the vibratory bowl orients fittings itself, so one operator keeps several machines running instead of hand-wrapping at the bench
  • Around 5× the pace of a skilled hand-wrapper — 600 to 800 taped fittings per hour, every one with the same wrap count
  • Turns and winding speed are recipe settings on the touchscreen, so switching between fitting sizes is a parameter change, not a mechanical rebuild
  • Tight, consistent wraps that stay put through bagging, shipping and assembly — no loose tape tails for customers to complain about

What it processes

  • Brass, steel and stainless pipe fittings, plugs and bushings taped before packing
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic fitting production lines
  • Valve and plumbing hardware exporters preparing ready-to-install joints

Suited for: high-volume PTFE thread-seal taping of ZG and NPT fittings from 1/8 to 2 inch — plugs, bushings, pneumatic and plumbing fittings that ship ready to install. Not suited for: wire harnesses, cable bundles or coil taping — for bundles, pick the WM-4136 harness tape wrapping machine covering Φ3–40 mm, and for coil taping the WM-464 two-station spot taper — this station winds thread-seal tape on pipe fittings only.

Send 200–300 of your actual fittings and a roll of the tape you buy, and we set up, run them and film the output — you count the wraps and tug the tape before you order.

WM-461 — common questions

Which fittings and tape does the WM-461 take?

Male threads from 1/8 to 2 inch in both ZG and NPT forms, wrapped with standard PTFE thread-seal tape 5 to 14 mm wide and 0.1 mm thick. Wrap count is settable, typically 3 to 5 turns per joint.

How much output should we plan for?

4 to 6 seconds per piece including feeding — 600 to 800 fittings per hour in continuous running, roughly five times a skilled manual wrapper, and the machine does not slow down after lunch.

What is it not built for?

It tapes threaded pipe fittings only — it does not wrap wire harnesses, cable bundles or coils. For taping wire looms and coils, see the harness taping machines in our tape wrapping category.
