Desktop Continuous Tape Wrapping Machine for Wire Harnesses WM-465

HS Code 8479.89 Φ2–15 mm bundles 1–6 turns/s

The WM-465 is a benchtop taping machine that spiral-wraps adhesive tape continuously along wire harness bundles from Φ2 to 15 mm (an oversized build covers Φ16–35 mm). A servo-controlled head turns at 1–6 revolutions per second, set on the touch screen in either fixed-length or free-length winding mode, and the whole unit weighs 16 kg on a 225 × 250 × 350 mm footprint — small enough for any harness bench.

Key features

  • Two winding modes on one screen — program a fixed wrap length per recipe, or run free length and stop where the job needs it
  • Servo-driven rotating head adjustable from 1 to 6 turns per second, so overlap pitch stays consistent as you feed the harness through
  • Open-throat head — lay the bundle in from the side at any point along the harness, no threading from the cable end
  • Tape blade is concealed inside the head and an emergency brake stops the rotation instantly; clear guards and a front e-stop round out the safety package
  • 16 kg benchtop build with a 225 × 250 × 350 mm footprint — one operator can carry it to wherever the work is
  • Free sample test — send your harness and tape, we wrap it on this machine and send you the video before you order

What it processes

  • Continuous spiral taping of wire harness trunks and branch-outs, bundle Φ2–15 mm
  • Automotive, appliance and control-cabinet harness shops replacing hand taping
  • Small-batch and prototype harness work where a full taping line is overkill

Suited for: continuous spiral taping of wire harness bundles from Φ2 to 15 mm on the bench — trunk runs, branch-outs, small batches and rework, with fixed-length recipes for repeat production. Not suited for: repeatable spot bands at fixed positions — that is the job of the WM-4105 semi-automatic spot taping machine; or taping harnesses that are already laid on the assembly board or installed in the vehicle — bring the tool to the wire with the WM-4110 handheld tape wrapping machine covering Φ8–35 mm bundles.

Bundles thicker than Φ15 mm do not rule this machine out: an oversized build of the WM-465 covers Φ16–35 mm — state your bundle diameter in the inquiry and we quote the matching version.

WM-465 — common questions

What bundle sizes does the WM-465 wrap?

The standard machine wraps bundles from Φ2 to 15 mm. If your harness trunks run thicker, an oversized build of the same machine covers Φ16 to 35 mm — mention your bundle diameter in the inquiry and we will quote the right version.

What is the difference between fixed and free winding length?

In fixed mode you program the wrap length on the touch screen and the machine stops after exactly that distance — good for repeat production. In free mode the head keeps wrapping while you guide the harness and you end the wrap where the job needs it — good for varied branch lengths and rework.

Can it place tape bands at exact spot positions?

The WM-465 is built for continuous spiral runs along the harness, not for repeatable point taping. For fixed-position spot bands, the WM-4105 semi-automatic spot taping machine is the right tool — it registers the same wrap position piece after piece.

How fast does it wrap?

The head speed is adjustable from 1 to 6 revolutions per second. Actual meters per minute depend on the overlap pitch you choose — slower for full-overlap sealing wraps, faster for open spiral bundling.
