Semi-Automatic Copper Foil Tape Wrapping Machine for Cable Shielding WM-463
The WM-463 wraps a copper foil shielding band around round cable up to Φ10 mm — the EMI shield wrap applied over jackets and branch points in signal and data harnesses. It runs two-layer copper foil tape up to 12 mm wide, winding one layer onto the cable while the second layer is taken up automatically for scrap recycling. PLC control and a stepper-driven wrap head hold each cycle at 1.2 to 2.0 seconds, for 1,200 to 1,500 pieces per hour. The benchtop frame draws 800 W at 220 V, needs 5 kgf/cm² of air and weighs 35 kg.

What exactly does the WM-463 wrap?
A copper foil band around round wire or cable up to Φ10 mm in diameter, at the position the operator presents to the wrap head — shield bands over jackets, branch points and splice areas. It is semi-automatic — insert the cable, trigger the cycle, and the machine wraps, cuts and recovers the scrap layer in 1.2 to 2.0 seconds.
Why does the copper foil tape need two layers?
The wrap mechanism is designed around two-layer foil stock — one layer winds onto the cable as the shield, while the other is pulled onto the take-up reel for scrap recycling, which keeps the feed path tensioned and continuous. What is it not suitable for?
Flat or ribbon cable and anything over Φ10 mm — the wrap head is built for round sections only. It also does not apply PVC, cloth or acetate tape; harness taping and spot taping belong to the other tape wrapping machines in this category.
