Multicore Cable Different Length Stripping Machine for Staggered Core Ends WM-198
The WM-198 strips every core of a sheathed multicore cable to its own length in one cycle, so the finished lead comes off the machine with staggered conductor ends instead of a flush bundle. It handles core wires from 0.5 to 3.0 mm² with strip lengths from 20 to 290 mm at 1,000–1,200 pcs/hour, driven by a servo axis on a precision linear module and programmed core-by-core on a colour touch screen with an English interface.

Suited for: sheathed multicore cable whose conductors must end at different lengths — cores 0.5 to 3.0 mm², strip lengths 20 to 290 mm, up to three independently programmed core positions.
Not suited for: jobs where the staggered cores also need terminals crimped on in the same pass — that is a WM-399 staggered core stripping and crimping line, which strips each conductor to its own length and crimps every core at 1,200–1,500 pcs/h. WM-198 — common questions
What does "different lengths" actually mean on the WM-198?
The cores inside one sheathed cable are stripped to different lengths in the same cycle. The screen holds a separate parameter set for core 1#, 2# and 3# — length, peeling length, half-strip length and wire diameter — so one conductor can end 35 mm out and the next 45 mm out. The result is a staggered end that seats directly into a stepped terminal block, without an operator trimming conductors by hand.
How many cores can it handle at once?
The control screen carries three independent core channels, and any of them can be closed if the cable has fewer conductors. Cores must fall in the 0.5–3.0 mm² range. Send us your cable drawing with the core count and the target length for each conductor and we will confirm the fit before quoting.
Does it also cut the cable to length and remove the outer jacket?
This machine is built around the core-stripping step and works on strip lengths of 20 to 290 mm. If you need the outer sheath removed and both ends processed on a full cut-to-length cycle, the WM-168HT covers Φ3–10 mm cable with 2 to 8 cores and strips the jacket and the cores in one pass — tell us where your cable starts and we will point you to the right machine.
What has to change when I switch cable types?
Parameters are typed on the screen, so a length or strip-depth change takes seconds. A blade change is needed when the stripping mode or the core diameter changes — blade sets are stocked as spare parts and we ship a spare set with the machine on request.
What air supply does it need?
0.3 to 0.6 MPa of clean, dry compressed air. The pneumatic clamps use AirTAC valves and cylinders, and wet air is the single biggest cause of short cylinder life — an air dryer or at minimum a water separator ahead of the machine is worth the money.
