We build the WM-1241 for repeat cutting and end stripping of 25–400 mm² power cable without a compressed-air supply. Servo-driven belt feeding and a servo cutter prepare leading ends up to 500 mm and trailing ends up to 250 mm, depending on the cable. Programmable feed pressure, automatic outlet-roller lift and 200 stored programs help repeat established jobs. The stripping program supports up to three layers or three successive passes for a long strip; we demonstrate the required preparation on your cable sample.

Key features

  • Set up without a compressed-air line: electric drives power the feed and cutter, so this station does not need an air connection.
  • Return to a proven cable setup: store up to 200 programs and set inlet and outlet clamping pressure in the program, reducing repeated manual pressure adjustment when jobs change.
  • Give long end strips room to clear: the outlet rollers lift during leading-end stripping, with the lift height set in the program for the cable being processed.
  • Prepare different strip profiles on the same station: use up to three programmed layers or successive passes for a long strip, with the required result checked on your actual cable.
  • Inspect your termination before ordering: we run your sample and send a video showing feeding, end preparation and close views of the exposed strands, insulation edge and jacket surface.

What it processes

  • Repeated cut-and-strip batches of 25–400 mm² power leads for electrical equipment and distribution assemblies
  • Large cable ends prepared for downstream lug and connector assembly, within the specified end-strip lengths
  • Shielded power-cable preparation requiring a defined sequence of up to three stripping layers, confirmed on a sample trial
  • Cable-processing stations where compressed air is unavailable or a separate air connection would complicate installation

Our WM-1241 brings programmed feeding, cutting and end stripping into an all-electric station for large power cable. Both feed pressure and outlet-roller lift height are set in the program. Once the cable has passed the sample trial, we can store its processing settings for repeat batches.

Suited for: 25–400 mm² power cable cut to length and prepared at both ends, including layered cable with a strip profile verified on the actual sample. Leading-end stripping reaches 500 mm and trailing-end stripping reaches 250 mm, depending on the cable, with at least 180 mm of insulation retained between the prepared ends.

Not suited for: cable below 25 mm²; our WM-172 three-layer cable machine covers 6–150 mm², and our WM-167 benchtop machine covers 0.1–10 mm² single-core wire. For cable above 400 mm² or a construction outside the confirmed sample range, use our custom machine inquiry.

Check the stripped end before repeating the batch

Conductor area alone does not describe the insulation the blade must cut or the surface the belts must grip. Send the jacket material, outside diameter, finished cut length and required strip length at each end. For layered cable, mark which layers must remain and which must be removed.

We run the sample and send close views of the exposed strands, strip edges and belt contact areas. Include the shortest preparation and the longest pull-off in the trial so you can inspect the results needed for downstream lug or connector assembly. The 200-program memory then lets you recall the settings established for each job.

Plan the reel and the finished cable together

A long programmable length needs a workable path into and out of the machine. We review the reel weight, reel dimensions and cable stiffness with the required finished lengths, then confirm feeding and collection equipment on the quote. The 180 mm minimum insulated middle length remains part of the end-stripping setup even when the cutting program accepts a smaller number.

For installation, allow for the 1,530 × 670 × 1,370 mm machine and the space needed to feed and collect your cable. Approximate machine weight is 380 kg. We confirm the electrical input and delivered screen size before ordering; we set the voltage for your country and ship the English interface and manual.

WM-1241 — common questions

Can the WM-1241 process any cable marked 400 mm²?

The stated conductor range is 25–400 mm². Outside diameter, jacket thickness, insulation material and cable construction also determine the guide and blade setup. The Ø20/28/35/42/50 mm figures are guide inner bores. Send the cable drawing or sample with the finished length and both end-strip profiles; we demonstrate the result before ordering.

How long can each end be stripped?

Leading-end stripping is 0–500 mm and trailing-end stripping is 0–250 mm, depending on the cable. The program also supports up to three successive passes for a long strip. We check the required pull-off sequence on your cable. For leading-end strips beyond 500 mm on 30–300 mm² cable, compare our WM-175 rotary cable machine, which specifies leading-end stripping up to 1,000 mm.

What does the 0–500 m cutting-length setting mean?

It is the programmable cutting-length range. It does not describe insulation-removal length or establish that a zero-length piece can be made. End preparation must leave at least 180 mm of insulation in the middle, and long pieces also need suitable feeding and collection. We confirm your shortest and longest finished pieces on the quote after reviewing the cable and strip drawing.

Can it strip three layers and all the inner cores automatically?

We provide a program for up to three stripping layers, or up to three successive stripping passes for a long strip. Send a cross-section drawing identifying each layer to remove and each layer to retain. We demonstrate that sequence on your sample. For separate preparation of individual inner cores, use our custom machine inquiry so we can match the required operations.

How do you check for damaged strands or marks on the jacket?

We set the guide, blade and belt clamping pressure for your actual cable. The sample video includes close views of the exposed strands, insulation edge and jacket where the belts grip. Send your acceptance criteria with representative cable samples, including the smallest and largest sizes you intend to run.

What output and length tolerance should we use for production planning?

The specified rate is 500–1,000 pieces per hour, depending on the cable. Cutting tolerance is stated as ±(0.005 mm × L), with L representing cutting length and the result depending on the cable. We confirm the tolerance for your required lengths on the quote and time the sample run with your end-strip profile, so the production estimate follows the job you will actually run.

Does it need compressed air, and which electrical rating applies?

No compressed-air supply is required. The datasheet lists 220 V and 3,500 W; the component list separately rates the cutter servo at 2,300 W and four feed servos at 750 W each. We confirm electrical input and installation supply requirements before ordering. For your delivery, we set the voltage for your country and ship the English interface and manual.

Does the machine have a 7-inch or a 10-inch screen?

The datasheet specification and component list state a 10-inch touchscreen, while the datasheet feature text states 7 inches. We confirm the screen size and delivered configuration before ordering. The program memory is specified as up to 200 programs.

How does it differ from the WM-172 three-layer cable machine?

Our WM-172 covers 6–150 mm² cable with a maximum Ø28 mm guide and 100 stored programs. The WM-1241 covers 25–400 mm², lists guide bores up to Ø50 mm and stores 200 programs. Both specify leading-end strips up to 500 mm and trailing-end strips up to 250 mm; we select and test the machine against your cable construction and required output.

Are wire separation, slitting and printing included?

A wire-separating jig, slitting jig and inkjet printer are optional accessories. Tell us which operation the finished cable needs so we can confirm the tooling, sequence and supplied configuration on the quote.

What equipment do we need for a heavy reel or a long finished cable?

Send the loaded reel weight and dimensions, cable outside diameter and required finished length. We match pay-off and feeding equipment to the reel and check the feed path during the trial. Collection or coiling equipment for long pieces is confirmed separately on the quote.

How do we plan for replacement blades and belts?

Wear parts include cutting blades, feed belts and guide tubes; every quote lists them with unit price and the location they ship from. We match the replacement parts to the cable setup and delivered machine.
