Automatic Spring Pipe Cutting Machine for Spring Guard and PVC-Sheathed Coil, Ø1–30 mm WM-588
The WM-588 cuts helical spring stock to length — bare steel spring guard and PVC-sheathed spring tube from Ø1 to Ø30 mm. A rotary round saw blade (1 kW, expandable to 2 kW) parts the hardened coil wire while belt feeding driven by a stepper motor advances it in 50 mm strokes, holding length to ±0.5 + 0.003 × L. Output runs 20–100 pieces per minute onto a conveyor, programmed on a motion control panel with English touchscreen interface.

Key features
- Built for helical spring stock, not solid tube — the rotary saw parts hardened coil wire, so cut pieces come off with the pitch open instead of pinched shut the way a shear blade leaves them
- Belt feeding spreads the drive over a long contact length rather than pressing on two points, so an open-pitch coil is advanced without being squeezed closed or pulled longer
- Same setup runs bare spring guard and spring already sheathed in PVC — the blade goes through sleeve and wire in one pass
- Stepper-driven 50 mm feed stroke with ±0.5 + 0.003 × L tolerance, output counted and batched on the English touchscreen
- Enclosed cutting hood with alarm tower keeps chips and blade away from the operator; cut pieces leave on the conveyor belt
What it processes
- Steel spring guard and spring sleeving cut to fixed lengths for hose and cable protection at flex points
- PVC-sheathed spring tube cut into assembly-ready sections
- Coil spring stock cut to length for hardware, appliance and automotive sub-assembly
Suited for: cutting wound spring stock to length — bare steel spring guard and spring already sheathed in PVC, Ø1 to Ø30 mm, fed from coil or straight lengths. Not suited for: solid-wall pipe. Copper, aluminum, stainless and armored pipe from Φ1 to Φ30 mm belong on the WM-183 metal tube cutting machine; corrugated conduit, PVC and silicone hose up to Φ40 mm run on the WM-582 automatic tube cut-to-length machine; heat shrink tubing and soft sleeving up to Φ38 mm belong on the WM-565N heat shrink tube cutting machine.
Spring wire grade, wire diameter and coil pitch all change how a spring cuts. Tell us those three numbers with your inquiry, or send a sample length — we set the machine up on your actual material and show you the result before you order.

WM-588 — common questions
What does the WM-588 actually cut — spring, or tube?
Helical spring stock. It takes coiled spring wire from Ø1 to Ø30 mm, either bare (open-pitch spring guard) or already covered with a PVC sleeve, and cuts it into fixed lengths. It is not a machine for solid-wall pipe — the cutting logic is built around a wound coil with gaps between the turns.
Does the machine flatten the coil where it cuts?
The rotary round saw cuts through the wire rather than pinching it, and the feed is belt driven instead of two-point roller pressure, so pieces come off with the helix intact. Send us 2–3 meters of your actual spring — we run it on this machine and send you the trial-run video with the cut pieces before you commit to the order.
How accurate are the cut lengths?
Tolerance is ±0.5 + (0.003 × L) where L is the cut length, and material advances in 50 mm feed strokes under stepper control. Throughput is 20–100 pieces per minute depending on the length you are cutting.
Can it cut rigid metal pipe or plastic hose as well?
No — those need a different feed and blade combination. For copper, aluminum, stainless or armored pipe from Φ1 to Φ30 mm use the WM-183 metal tube cutting machine; for corrugated, PVC and silicone hose up to Φ40 mm use the WM-582 tube cut-to-length machine.
