Benchtop Pneumatic Terminal Crimping Machine for 0.08–6 mm² Ferrules WM-398
The WM-398 is a benchtop pneumatic crimper for insulated and non-insulated ferrules from 0.08 to 6 mm². Its adjustable die supports changes of wire size without replacing a fixed-size die. A foot air valve triggers the double-acting cylinder, and no electrical connection is required. The specification lists 13.5 kN, 0.4–1 MPa and 5 kg; operating pressure, force, weight and the finished crimp profile are confirmed for the quoted configuration before ordering.

Key features
- One die covers the whole 0.08–6 mm² ferrule range — the square die adjusts steplessly, so changing wire size never means changing tooling
- We check the finished ferrule profile and retention on your wire and ferrule samples before confirming the tooling configuration.
- Air-powered operation needs no electrical connection; we confirm the operating pressure and pneumatic setup for your configuration before connection.
- Foot-valve trigger keeps both hands free to hold the wire and sleeve; a clear guard covers the die area
- A carry handle supports movement between workstations; the specification lists 5 kg and the delivered weight is confirmed on the quote.
- Delivered ready to connect, with the foot air valve and two air pipes in the box
What it processes
- Bootlace ferrule termination for control cabinets, switchgear and panel wiring
- Electrical installation and maintenance teams crimping mixed wire sizes on site
- Small-batch wire harness shops where wire sizes change too often for fixed dies
Suited for: crimping insulated and non-insulated ferrules (cable end sleeves) from 0.08 to 6 mm² at an assembly bench or on site — one adjustable die with its finished profile confirmed by sample, foot-valve operation, air-only power. Not suited for: continuous production runs — an operator still strips the wire and threads each ferrule by hand. For volume work move up to the WM-397 e-tube terminal crimping machine (strips, twists and crimps 0.3–6 mm² ferrules automatically at 1,000–1,300 pcs/hour) or the WM-3116 servo bootlace ferrule crimping machine covering 0.3–16 mm². Copper cable lugs above 6 mm² belong on the WM-3135T cable lug crimping machine, which presses terminals up to 120 mm².

WM-398 — common questions
Which terminals does the WM-398 crimp?
Tubular ferrule terminals — also called cable end sleeves or bootlace ferrules — in both insulated and non-insulated versions, from 0.08 to 6 mm². The square die is steplessly adjustable, so any size inside that range crimps without swapping tooling. It is not built for open-barrel reel terminals or large copper lugs.
What do I need to run it — does it use electricity?
It runs on compressed air and needs no electrical connection. The specification lists 0.4–1 MPa; confirm the required operating pressure for the delivered configuration before connecting it. A foot air valve and two air pipes are included.
Is a pneumatic bench tool enough for production volumes?
For assembly benches, maintenance and small batches, yes — the foot valve makes it much faster and more consistent than hand pliers. For continuous production you should step up to an automatic machine that strips, twists and crimps in one cycle; see the models linked below.
Does it produce a square or hexagonal crimp?
The machine uses an adjustable ferrule die. We confirm the finished crimp profile with your ferrule and wire samples and record it on the quote; do not select a required profile from the open die shape alone.
