Automatic Cable Winding and Tying Machine for Figure-8 and Round Coils WM-4811
The WM-4811 automatically winds pre-cut electrical wire, cable and hose up to Φ10 mm into figure-8 or round (O-shape) bundles and closes each one with a plastic-coated iron-core twist tie, at a reference output of 800–1,200 pieces per hour. Winding distance covers 180–300 mm in figure-8 mode and 120–300 mm in round mode, leaving programmable head and tail lengths, and the whole cycle — wind, tie, cut, release — runs continuously under PLC touch-screen control.

Suited for: pre-cut cords, cables, hose and soft tube up to Φ10 mm — USB cables, AC and DC power cords after plug molding — wound into figure-8 or round bundles and twist-tied automatically, ready for bagging. Not suited for: cable still on the drum that must be measured and cut first — the WM-4808 cutting, figure-8 coiling and tying machine integrates measure–cut–coil–tie for cable OD 3–12 mm; nor for measured coils that need no tie — the WM-4810 coiling machine with meter counter winds counted lengths of wire from 0.5 to 16 mm. For low-volume benches where an operator presents each coil by hand, the WM-4807 semi-automatic winding and twist tie machine covers bundles of Ø 5–35 mm at a fraction of the footprint. And if the figure-8 has to come out tighter than 180 mm across on cable of this size, this machine cannot do it in figure-8 mode — its 120 mm setting belongs to round mode only. The WM-4822 figure-8 winding and twist tie machine takes the same Φ10 mm cable down to a 110 mm winding distance.
The head and tail settings are what make the bundles connector-friendly: the machine leaves a free head length (up to 150 mm in figure-8 mode, 200 mm in round mode) and a free tail (up to 500 mm / 300 mm) outside the wound body, so plugs and connector ends stay accessible on the finished bundle instead of being buried in the coil. Head, tail, winding turns and tie position repeat identically piece after piece — which is the point of taking this job away from hand-winding: a carton of 500 cords where every bundle looks the same.
Mechanically the station is a winding table with adjustable forming posts, a reel-fed twist-tie head that wraps and cuts the plastic-coated iron-core tie, and overhead grippers on the gantry that lift each tied bundle clear. Compressed air at 0.4–0.6 MPa drives the clamping and transfer motions. WM-4811 — common questions
What is the difference between figure-8 and round winding on the WM-4811?
Both shapes run on the same machine. In figure-8 mode the cable is looped in a crossing pattern over a winding distance of 180–300 mm; in round (O-shape) mode it is coiled in plain loops over 120–300 mm. Which one you use is a packaging decision — figure-8 bundles resist tangling when the tie is removed, round coils pack flatter — and the shape is selected per recipe on the touch screen.
Is the machine fully automatic, and what does the operator do?
The wind–tie–cut–release cycle is fully automatic and runs uninterrupted under PLC control. The operator loads pre-cut cables and clears the output; the stated 800–1,200 pcs/h is a reference figure — actual output depends on cable length, number of winding turns and coil size, which is why we confirm capacity with a sample video on your own cables.
What tie material does it use — can it apply nylon zip ties?
The WM-4811 ties with plastic-coated iron-core twist tie wire fed from a reel, with the tie feed length set on the touch screen. It does not apply nylon zip ties — if your packaging spec calls for plastic cable ties, use the WM-4809 automatic cable tie station with handheld gun (1,500–1,800 ties/h) after coiling.
Does the WM-4811 measure and cut the cable to length?
No — it winds and ties cables that are already cut, which is why it fits after cut-strip-crimp or plug-molding lines. If you need measuring, cutting, coiling and tying integrated in one machine, the WM-4808 does that for cable OD 3–12 mm and lengths of 3–10 m.
