The WM-187 cuts wire to length, strips both ends and twists the exposed strands in one pass, so wires leave the machine ready for tinning or crimping. It runs a single wire from 0.1 to 4.5 mm² or two wires side by side at 0.1 to 2.5 mm² each, delivering 4,000 to 10,000 pieces per hour at 100 mm length. Suited for: high-volume hookup wire that goes on to tinning or crimping — single wire 0.1 to 4.5 mm², or two wires at once up to 2.5 mm² each, with twisted ends straight off the machine. WM-187 — common questions

Why twist the strands at the machine instead of by hand?

Untwisted strands flare after stripping, which causes stray-strand shorts at solder joints and misfeeds in crimp applicators. The WM-187 twists each stripped end mechanically in the same cycle, so every wire arrives at the next station with a tight, uniform strand lay — consistency hand-twisting cannot hold over thousands of pieces.

How does double-wire mode change throughput?

Two wires feed side by side through the same rollers and blades, so each machine cycle produces two finished pieces. On wire up to 2.5 mm² that lifts effective output toward the 10,000 pcs/h end of the range — worth it on any job of ten thousand pieces or more.

What is it not built for?

It handles single-insulation wire only, up to 4.5 mm². Sheathed multi-core cable, shielded wire and anything thicker need the jacket-capable automatic cut and strip machines in this category — twisting attachments are available on several of those models too.
