Large Cable Cutting and Stripping Machine with Wire Coiling Unit for 10–70 mm² WM-171
The WM-171 pairs a heavy cable cut-and-strip machine with a coiling unit, so long pieces of 10–70 mm² cable wind themselves into tidy coils instead of piling up on the floor. Thirty-two belt-drive wheels feed PVC and sheathed cable up to Φ25 mm without marking the jacket, cut any length from 0.1 to 99,999.9 mm within 0.002 × L, and strip heads up to 500 mm on sheathed wire (120 mm on RV cable) with tails to 260 mm. Output reaches 1,800 pieces per hour, programmed on a 7-inch color touchscreen.

Key features
- The coiling unit closes the loop — multi-meter battery and panel leads leave the line as wound coils, not as a tangle an operator has to wrestle off the floor
- 32-wheel belt feeding spreads grip over a long contact area, so soft large-gauge jackets come through without indentation marks
- Head strips reach 500 mm on sheathed wire, covering long busbar and lug terminations that normally need a second manual scoring step
- Length tolerance held within 0.002 × L from 0.1 mm to 99,999.9 mm — the same program logic serves short jumpers and 90-meter runs
What it processes
- Energy-storage and EV battery plants producing long, coiled power leads
- Switchgear and distribution builders cutting 10–70 mm² feeder cable to length
- Cable shops delivering cut, stripped and coiled cable kits to installers
Suited for: PVC and sheathed cable from 10 to 70 mm² (up to Φ25) cut to length, stripped, and — for long pieces — wound into coils by the paired coiling unit. Not suited for: hookup wire below 10 mm² or jobs that need core-by-core stripping — for thin wire, pick the WM-167 benchtop cut and strip machine (0.1–10 mm²); for jacket plus inner cores in one pass, the WM-170X rotary blade machine strips both on 6–120 mm² multi-core cable.
Special cables can be run against your sample: send 2–3 meters of your actual cable and we run it on this machine on video before you commit.

WM-171 — common questions
What happens to a piece several meters long after the cut?
It feeds straight into the coiling unit beside the cutter, which winds it into a coil in its collection pan. The operator lifts out a finished coil instead of dragging loose cable off the floor — this is the difference between this combination and a bare cut-and-strip machine.
Why do the head stripping limits differ between cable types?
Fine-stranded RV cable strips up to 120 mm at the head, while sheathed wire allows up to 500 mm, with tails up to 260 mm on both. The blades and pull-off geometry treat a soft single-core jacket differently from an outer sheath, and the program stores the right parameters per cable.
Can it handle thin hookup wire under 10 mm²?
No — the feed and blade set are proportioned for large cable from 10 to 70 mm². Thin wire runs faster and cleaner on the smaller machines in the wire cutting and stripping category.
