Hot Stripping and Single-End Crimping Machine for Braided Cloth Wire, AWG 18–28 WM-3217
The WM-3217 processes cloth-braided and fibre-covered wire that ordinary blade strippers tear: a heated tool melts the braid open instead of cutting it, then the same cycle cuts the wire to length and crimps a terminal on one end. It runs AWG 18–28 wire at 3,800–7,600 pieces per hour, with cut lengths of 45–999 mm and strip lengths of 0–10 mm, set from an English touch screen on a 700 × 600 mm cabinet.

Suited for: woven-jacket lead wire — cloth-braided, fibre-covered and similar coverings in AWG 18–28 — cut from 45 to 999 mm and terminated on one end, where a mechanical blade would fray the weave or nick the strands. Not suited for: plain PVC hookup wire, where a blade strips faster and cheaper — for that, the WM-378 cut, strip, twist and single-end crimping machine covers AWG 14–28 with mechanical stripping and a twisted second end. Leads needing a terminal on both ends belong on the WM-3202 automatic double-end crimping machine (AWG 18–28, 3,800+ pcs/h). WM-3217 — common questions
Why does braided cloth wire need hot stripping instead of a blade?
A blade has to sever every fibre of the weave at once. On cloth, glass-fibre and similar woven coverings it snags, pulls the jacket into a bird's nest and often bites into the copper before the covering lets go. The WM-3217 uses a heated tool that melts through the covering, so the braid parts cleanly at the set position and the strands underneath stay intact.
What is "hot semi-stripping" on the WM-3217?
Semi-strip means the covering is cut through and pushed back to expose the conductor without being removed from the wire. The screen takes a head strip value and a separate semi-strip value, so the loose end of woven jacket stays attached to the lead instead of shedding fibres onto the shop floor. Strip length is adjustable from 0 to 10 mm.
Does it crimp both ends of the wire?
No — this is a single-end layout. One end gets the terminal, the other end leaves the machine cut and hot-stripped. If you need terminals on both ends over the same AWG 18–28 range, use the WM-3202 fully automatic double-end crimping machine instead.
How long can the leads be?
Cut length is programmable from 45 to 999 mm. For longer cloth leads, tell us the finished length in your inquiry and we will confirm what the feed and take-away can hold before quoting.
What does it need to run?
AC 220 V single-phase power and clean, dry compressed air at 0.5–0.7 MPa. The machine is 700 × 600 × 1,500 mm and weighs about 240 kg, so it stands on a normal shop floor with no foundation work.
