Round Power Cable Cutting and Stripping Machine for Cross-Sections up to 150 mm² WM-165

CE Certified HS Code 8463.90 ≤150 mm² (5–23 mm OD) 900 pcs/h

The WM-165 cuts and strips round power cable up to 150 mm² cross-section and 23 mm outer diameter — battery cable, welding leads, PV and grounding wire that hand knives score slowly and inconsistently. Eight belt-drive wheels on a motor ball screw feed the cable, strip to ±0.2 mm accuracy, and pull head strips as long as 800 mm. Cut length is programmable up to 400 m, output reaches 900 pieces per hour at 1,000 mm, and jobs run from a 7-inch touchscreen with an English interface. The 230 kg unit draws 2,300 W.

Key features

  • Takes the cable classes that stall a harness shop — battery, welding, PV and earth cable up to 150 mm² — off the utility knife and onto a programmed cycle
  • Head strips up to 800 mm long on round cable, so lug crimping, busbar prep and long terminations get bare conductor in one pass instead of repeated manual scoring
  • 8-wheel belt drive on a motor ball screw holds ±0.2 mm stripping accuracy, cycle after cycle, independent of operator skill
  • Cut length programmable to 400 m — the same machine cuts coil stock to transportable lengths and strips piece work

What it processes

  • EV, battery-pack and energy-storage builders stripping large-gauge power cable for lugs
  • Switchgear and panel shops preparing grounding and distribution cable
  • Welding equipment and cable assembly plants cutting leads to length with clean ends

Suited for: round single-core power cable up to 150 mm² and 23 mm OD — battery, welding, PV, grounding and distribution cable cut to length with precisely stripped ends. Not suited for: multi-core sheathed cable or thin hookup wire — for sheathed multi-core, pick the WM-164 cut and strip machine, which strips jacket and cores on 0.75–30 mm² cable; for thin hookup wire, the WM-167 benchtop machine runs 0.1–10 mm² at far higher piece rates.

Jacket compounds vary widely on large cable: send 2–3 meters of your actual cable and we run it on this machine on video before you commit.

WM-165 — common questions

What is the largest cable the WM-165 accepts?

Round cable up to 150 mm² cross-section with outer diameter from 5 to 23 mm, passing through a φ25 guide tube. At the full 150 mm² it strips up to 100 mm at head and tail; on smaller round cable the head strip extends to 800 mm.

Why does stripping accuracy of ±0.2 mm matter on thick cable?

Lug and ferrule crimps on large conductors specify a bare-wire window — too short and the insulation enters the barrel, too long and copper is exposed outside it. The ball-screw driven blades land within ±0.2 mm every cycle, so crimp inspections stop turning up rework.

Can it slit and strip multi-core sheathed cable down to the inner cores?

No — the WM-165 is built for single-core round cable. Sheathed multi-core cable that needs jacket plus core stripping belongs on the dedicated machines in the wire cutting and stripping category.
