Electric Scrap Wire Stripping Machine for Copper Recovery, 1.5–38 mm WM-1238
Our WM-1238 electric scrap wire stripper slits insulation for copper and aluminum recovery. It combines a 370 W motor with 11 feed holes and 10 circular knives for a specified cable diameter range of 1.5–38 mm. Operators select the feed opening and adjust the cutting setup to the cable; this is recycling equipment rather than a programmable harness cut-and-strip machine.

Key features
- Replace repeated hand scoring on recurring scrap batches: powered rollers move cable through the circular-knife area to open insulation for subsequent separation.
- Match the setup to mixed cable sizes: 11 feed openings and adjustable screw handles let you choose a guide path and cutting setting for the actual outside diameter and jacket thickness.
- Keep the cable aligned at the cutting point: grooved rollers and an adjustable guide plate support the feed path. We check traction and insulation opening on your cable sample.
- Judge recovery work by the complete process: we run your cable and send a video showing feeding, insulation opening and the remaining manual separation so you can assess usable output.
- Prepare for your electrical supply: we set the voltage for your country and ship the English manual. The machine uses physical start/stop controls.
What it processes
- Insulation removal from sorted copper cable scrap for metal recovery
- Aluminum-core cable recycling after a material trial
- Recurring batches of sheathed and multicore scrap requiring jacket opening before separation
Recovering metal from cable scrap involves more than making a slit. Mixed diameters, hard jackets and short offcuts can leave the operator spending more time sorting and peeling than feeding the machine. Our WM-1238 scrap copper wire stripping machine brings powered roller feeding and circular knives to that insulation-opening step.
Select the guide opening for the cable, set the cutting pressure and check how the insulation opens. The 11-hole layout provides several feed paths, while the screw adjustments let the operator respond to changes in jacket thickness. Assess the separated conductor and the remaining peeling work as well as the feed speed.
For a recycling workshop, the useful buying test is your own cable mix. Send representative copper or aluminum cable, including the shortest pieces you regularly handle. We demonstrate the preparation, stripping and separation sequence so you can evaluate handling effort and finished recovery output before ordering.

WM-1238 — common questions
Is this a precision wire harness stripping machine?
No. Our WM-1238 is intended for scrap cable recycling and insulation slitting. For measured cut lengths and controlled end stripping on assembly wire, see our wire cutting and stripping equipment.
Does 1.5–38 mm refer to conductor area?
It is the specified cable outside diameter in millimeters, not conductor cross-section in mm². Send the outside diameter, jacket material and thickness, conductor construction and a sample so we can verify the guide and knife setting.
Does it remove every layer from multicore cable in one pass?
We check the process on the cable construction. Opening an outer jacket and separating the insulated inner cores are different steps; additional passes or manual separation may be needed. Our sample demonstration shows the complete sequence.
Will it process 100 meters every minute in our workshop?
The specification lists 100 m/min as the processing speed. Sorting, inserting short pieces, adjusting between cable sizes and separating insulation affect completed output. We confirm a working rate using your cable mix and batch pattern rather than converting that figure into a guaranteed daily recovery weight.
What do the sample photographs show?
The sample photograph illustrates opened insulation and exposed copper. It is a material example; your cable trial establishes the required settings, separation steps and actual result.
How do we change cable sizes?
Choose the appropriate feed opening and adjust the top screw handles and guide plate for the cable. Before operation, check knife-to-groove alignment and fastener security with the power isolated, following the manual.
How are replacement blades and rollers supplied?
For knives, rollers and other wear parts, every quote lists them with unit price and the location they ship from. We identify the parts for your delivered configuration.
What should we send for a quote?
Send cable samples or clear cross-section photos, outside diameters, insulation materials, typical piece lengths and daily scrap quantity. Include your country so we can confirm voltage and plug configuration.
