Bench Hot Air Heat Shrink Gun Station, 3 kW with 360° Adjustable Outlet WM-677
The WM-677 is a bench-top hot-air station for shrinking tube onto cable ends, splices and connector breakouts. A 3 kW resistance element heats the air, a 50 W centrifugal blower pushes it through an insulated duct into a stainless gun barrel, and that barrel is clamped to a height-adjustable post that rotates 360° — the operator brings the air to the joint instead of twisting the harness around a fixed outlet. Maximum outlet air temperature rise is above 395 °C with a 430 °C withstand ceiling, the heating wire is rated for 100,000 hours, and the double-insulated housing limits heat transfer to the outside; follow the operating instructions around hot surfaces. The whole unit draws 3,050 W from a single 220 V two-phase supply, weighs 10 kg, and measures 320 × 255 × 430 mm — 600 mm long once the heater arm is counted.

Key features
- The heater barrel is clamped to a height-adjustable post and turns 360° in every direction — awkward joints get met at the angle they already sit at, instead of the operator bending a stiff harness back towards a fixed air outlet
- Blower and heater live in separate boxes joined by an insulated flexible duct, so the hot end stays small and light at the work point while the fan noise and mass sit back on the base plate
- 3 kW of resistance heat behind a modest 50 W, 138 m³/h fan — enough energy to shrink tube quickly, but a gentle enough air stream that thin wires and loose leads are not blown out of the fixture
- Double-insulated stainless housing with a 100,000-hour rated heating wire and a 430 °C withstand ceiling, built to stay at temperature through a full shift rather than cycling like a trigger-held gun
- 10 kg total on a flat base plate with a carry handle, running from one ordinary 220 V outlet — no compressed air line, no gas bottle, and two hands are enough to move it to another bench
What it processes
- Shrinking sealing boots and strain-relief tube over high-voltage EV cable breakouts and connector backshells
- Seating transition and branch tube on multi-core control and instrumentation harnesses
- Shrinking dual-wall adhesive-lined tube over splices, lugs and battery cable ends at a repair or rework bench
- Shrinking printed identification sleeves onto panel and cabinet wiring
Suited for: operator-paced shrinking where the joint will not come to a fixed outlet — connector backshells, high-voltage cable breakouts, branch transitions and marker sleeves. The gun head swings to the work, the controller holds the heat, and 3 kW is enough for dual-wall adhesive-lined tube as well as thin-wall. Not suited for: rated volume production — this machine is paced by the operator’s hand, so for a throughput number on a moving belt take the WM-666 crawler belt tunnel oven at 2,000 pcs/h instead. Not suited for: heavy cable ends and large-diameter shrink caps that need heat from both sides at once — the WM-668F twin-nozzle hot air machine delivers 4 kW through two opposed Ø50 mm nozzles with freely adjustable nozzle spacing. Not suited for: cutting and inserting the tube before it is shrunk — this station only heats. If the tube also has to be fed, cut and slid onto the wire, the WM-663 inserting and heating machine does all three at 800 – 2,500 pcs/h.
Send us a length of your harness with the exact shrink tube you use. We run it on this station and post the shrunk samples back, so the seating, the gloss and the edge of the tube are judged on your own parts before any order is placed.
The listed heating-wire life is 100,000 h; it is a component rating, not a warranty for that duration. Confirm the duty conditions, electrical connection and replacement schedule on the quote.

WM-677 — common questions
Is this a handheld heat gun?
No. The heater is a bench-mounted gun barrel clamped to a post on the machine's own base plate, fed by a separate blower box through an insulated duct. The operator's hands stay on the wire, not on a trigger — which is why it can hold temperature continuously through a shift instead of heating and cooling on every pull.
Which air outlet does it come with?
The datasheet lists outlet sizes of 50 mm and 25 mm. The unit in our photographs is fitted with a U-shaped saddle outlet that straddles the wire and blows onto it from both flanks — useful when tube has to seat evenly all the way round a breakout. Tell us the joint geometry and tube sizes you shrink most and we will confirm which outlet ships with your machine before you order.
What tube and harness diameters does it handle?
Harness diameter compatibility and hourly output are confirmed on the quote after a trial. The specification lists 3 kW of heat, an outlet air temperature rise above 395 °C, and maximum airflow of 138 m³/h, with actual airflow about 80 m³/h. Send your tube and cable; we shrink samples on this machine and return them for finish inspection.
What is it not built for?
Volume production and very large sections. It is an operator-paced station — one joint at a time, presented by hand. For a rated throughput on a conveyor, see the WM-666 crawler belt tunnel oven at 2,000 pcs/h. For thick cable ends and large-diameter shrink caps, the WM-668F twin-nozzle machine puts 4 kW through two opposed Ø50 mm nozzles.
