Semi-Automatic Pneumatic Hook Needle Toroidal Coil Winding Machine WM-4830
Our WM-4830 uses an air-cylinder-driven hook needle to assist winding 0.3–3.5 mm wire around closed toroidal cores. Support rollers hold the core while the operator presents and guides the wire. The minimum finished inside diameter depends on the selected hook needle; we confirm the fit and winding result with your core and wire samples.

Key features
- Assist repeated wire passes through a closed ring core with a reciprocating pneumatic hook, while the operator controls wire presentation and placement.
- Keep the core supported at the winding point with three rollers and an adjustable support assembly.
- Check access through the finished coil before ordering — we select the hook against your core opening, wire diameter and required turns, then film a sample trial.
- Inspect the process and the result together — the demonstration shows manual wire handling, hook-assisted winding and the completed toroidal coil.
- We set the voltage for your country and ship the English interface and manual.
What it processes
- Toroidal inductor and choke winding with enamelled copper wire
- Ring-core transformer coil production
- Operator-assisted winding of closed magnetic cores using 0.3–3.5 mm wire
Pulling wire through a closed ring core is only part of a successful winding job. The hook still needs clearance as the turns build up, and the operator must manage the loose wire without losing the intended winding arrangement.
Our WM-4830 supports the core between rollers and uses a pneumatic cylinder to move the hook needle. You can see the working sequence in the video: present the wire, guide successive turns and remove the completed coil for inspection. This is a semi-automatic process with the operator at the winding point.
For selection, send your core OD, ID and height, wire diameter, target turns and winding drawing. We check hook access, wind your actual material and film the result, including the completed coil and its remaining inside opening. To get a WM-4830 quote, share the ring core size and the wire diameter. If you have a drawing of the finished winding, we can use it to check the setup.

WM-4830 — common questions
Is this a fully automatic toroidal winder?
Our WM-4830 is an operator-assisted station. The pneumatic cylinder drives the hook needle, while the operator presents the wire, manages the loose length and removes the finished coil. The video shows these manual steps.
What is the smallest core opening it can work through?
The minimum finished inside diameter depends on the hook needle size. Send the core outside diameter, inside diameter and height, plus wire diameter and target turns. We check the remaining opening at the end of winding with your samples.
Does the 0.3–3.5 mm range guarantee compatibility with every toroid?
It is the specified wire-diameter range. The core opening, hook size, wire stiffness and required winding arrangement must also fit the job. We wind your samples and show the finished coil before confirming the configuration.
How does it differ from the WM-9319 toroidal winder?
Our WM-4830 uses a reciprocating hook for 0.3–3.5 mm wire. Our WM-9319 uses a split wire-storage ring and is specified for 0.05–0.25 mm wire. Send your core and wire details so we can confirm the appropriate winding mechanism.
What air supply and production rate should we plan for?
Air pressure and consumption are confirmed on the quote. We time a winding trial with your core, wire length and target turns to establish a practical cycle including manual handling.
Can it wind bobbins mounted on a spindle?
For bobbins, tube formers and mandrels, see our WM-9324 spindle winding machine, specified for 0.05–0.8 mm magnet wire. Our WM-4830 is for winding through the opening of a closed ring core.
How do we arrange a trial and order wear parts?
Send ring cores, your actual wire and the required turns or winding drawing. We film the trial and show the finished coils before you order. Every quote lists wear parts with unit price and the location they ship from.
