The WM-715 splices stripped wires by crimping a sleeve of continuous copper tape around the gathered strands — feeding, cutting and closing the joint in one cycle at a rated 3-ton crimp force. A digital panel gives an LED piece counter, tape-feed jog and switchable manual or foot-pedal triggering, and the low-noise drive lets the compact, bolt-down machine work right beside assembly benches. It replaces solder and pre-formed splice terminals on lamp, switch, sensor and heating-element connections.

Suited for: cold splicing of stripped appliance-gauge wires with continuous copper tape — lamp, switch, sensor and heating-element leads where solder heat or flux is unwelcome and pre-formed splice terminals cost too much per joint. Not suited for: crimping standard insulated or open-barrel terminals or any solder work — for terminals, pick from our terminal crimping machines; for metallurgical splices or larger cross-sections, use the WM-711 ultrasonic wire welding machine or the heavier WM-716 copper band splicer in the same category.

WM-715 — common questions

How is the WM-715 different from the WM-716 copper band splicer?

Both crimp continuous copper tape around stripped wires in a single action. The WM-715 is the compact bench unit with a rated 3-ton crimp force, sized for appliance-gauge leads next to an operator. The WM-716 is the heavier 4-ton station for larger bundles and harder duty cycles. If your splice combination sits near the boundary, send samples and we run them on both.

What wires and copper tape does it take?

It runs continuous copper tape from a reel through the motorized gear feed and crimps it around stripped, gathered wires — typical work is two appliance-gauge leads joined side by side, as in the sample photos. Tape width and wire combinations are confirmed against your actual samples — send 2–3 meters of each wire and we crimp your joints on video before you order.

What is it not built for?

It does not crimp insulated or pre-formed terminals — that is a job for a terminal crimping machine — and it makes a mechanical joint, not a metallurgical weld.
